The first month of my No Buy Year is done. I am excited to keep working on this goal because my results have been WOW!
One of my rules for this No Spend Year is that I can sell any of my stuff and use that money how I see fit. So I wanted to share the results for the money I made from selling my own items. I made a whopping $53.03. I sold a baby activity table on Facebook Marketplace for $8. I priced it low and it sold within the hour. I sold 5 items on Poshmark for $45.23. If you want to hear about the exact items I sold, check out the video up above. Also, use this link to get $10 off your first Poshmark order. You will get $10 and I will get $10.
Another rule I have for my No Spend Year is no Amazon purchases. I decided to compare my January 2020 Amazon orders with my January 2021.
Now onto the exciting parts!
Mortgage Principal Payment
In January 2020 we made an extra principal mortgage payment of $500.
In January 2021 we made an extra principal mortgage payment of $150.
Savings
In January 2020 we added $0 to our savings.
In January 2021 we added $115 to our savings.
Index Fund Investing
In January 2020 we invested $0 into index funds.
In January 2021 we invested $1130 into index funds.
The first month of our No Spend Year we’ve been able to invest 45% of our income. This includes index fund and 401K investments! I am shocked by these results. I am excited to see what February brings… stay tuned!
